This incredibly cozy wedding recently took place at The Ranche in Calgary’s Fish Creek Park. With under 30 guests, the union felt uniquely intimate and radiated heaps of romance. We started with a ceremony set up in a small room of the historical home, followed by a reception of three tables so breathtaking we were tempted to stay (alas, it’s hard to remain inconspicuous in a crowd of 30). It was a wonderful, personal, warm event that we were thrilled to be part of. Congrats to the beautiful couple!
Since writing this blog post we have received this lovely message from Phyllis and Helmut Benischke, the bride and groom. Thank you so much!
Shannon Collins and her staff at Chair Flair did an amazing job of helping me pull together my small wedding. We started planning our big day 6 months in advance, but only made the final decisions 2 months before our January 19, 2012 wedding. We picked The Ranche Restaurant in Fish Creek Park for our small ceremony and sit-down dinner reception for 27 people. My first thought was to only rent Shannon’s sashes, table runners and just do the rest of the decorating as DIY. Doing it Yourself would’ve been fine if I didn’t have to worry about setting up for the ceremony at the same time the wedding party was outside doing wedding photos before all our guests arrived. I’m not sure how I could’ve been in two places at the same time; that is where Shannon and her staff came in. I met with Shannon the first week of January and within minutes she was able to take all my simple ideas and turn them into an elegant, intimate gathering for my close friends and family. I didn’t see the finished result until I walked into the room for our ceremony and reception. It was breath-taking and so fancy. The Staff at The Ranche were amazed at the room transformation; they asked if they could take pictures to add to their guest book. Every one of our 27 guests made a comment about the beautiful décor, the candle light and how the Navy Blue and Silver color scheme made the room come alive. Even though it wasn’t part of my original Wedding Package, Shannon graciously agreed to meet with my Cupcake Baker, Arlene of “Little Shop of Cakes”, at the Venue, and was able to incorporate my Cupcake Favor Boxes and Cake-pop Place Setting Vases with her décor style. In addition to the fantastic work, the service provided by Chair Flair was exceptional and was completed in record time. The cost of the décor service was minimal and I believe was the best decision I ever made; the peace of mind of knowing that the room would be transformed into my Winter Wonderland was priceless. A big THANK YOU to Shannon Collins and Chair Flair for making my special day a memorable one.
Thank you again for all your help. You made January 19th less stressful for me and the Groom.
